Team Australia needed a source of inspiration after a humiliating ODI series defeat and the rain-curtailed T20I loss. The bowling order in the 50-over series deemed one-dimensional making it easy for the Indian batsmen to churn those heavy scores.

The second T20I saw the introduction of a certain Jason Behrendorff who absolutely ran through the Indian top-order. The lanky left-armer was able to move the ball both ways and at a brisk pace.

The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have had this frailty of falling over to the off stump, making themselves vulnerable to the leg-before-wicket dismissal. The weakness was worked upon with intricate accuracy and the match was decided only in the 5th over.

The top-order of both the teams are as colossal a batting line-up can get. But it’s the middle-order that has shown signs of fragility. If a team gets bundled out for 118 in Indian conditions, which both the teams have managed to, there’s some serious homework to be done.

While the shortest format of the game is considered rather impulsive an astute middle and lower order is a requisite. And we’ve seen the same Indian batters, a few Australians too, man the middle overs to a nicety and go completely berserk at the final stages of an innings.

The teams travel to Hyderabad for the third and final T20I of the series. While the Indian contingent will receive a grand welcome from the cricket-crazy crowd, one man’s arrival is bound to elevate the stadium’s noise by several decibels. David Warner, the Sunrisers’ captain is an outright fan favorite with the likes of Moises Henriques also being a familiar face from the Hyderabadi franchise.

Warner in Hyderabad has scored 1291 runs in 27 innings at 61.48 with two hundreds and 11 half-centuries. With the series decider at stake, his stay at the crease can change the course of the game.

KL Rahul might find a place in the Indian middle-order. He’s likely to replace Manish Pandey. Ashish Nehra did announce that his stint in the Indian colours will come to an end on the 1st of November, but the pacer is doubtful to find a place in the already settled Indian pace-attack.

The Australians are unlikely to meddle with their winning combination. They’ll field the same eleven.
