India vs Australia 2nd T20 Match Preview
AUSTRALIA’S LOSS IS INDIA’S GAIN
The Australians are in a spot of bother at the moment. The ODI series didn’t go according to plan and the scuffle in the first T20I at Ranchi continued. Steven Smith is out with a shoulder injury, Glenn Maxwell seems to find the fielder or miss the ball completely when Yuzvendra Chahal gets the white cherry, skipper David Warner averages only 17 in his last eight T20I innings. These are ominous signs as far as carrying some confidence into the upcoming ashes is concerned.
India on the other hand can’t put a step wrong. Every change, every combination they’ve tried seems to work magnificently. The form graph has only seen a steep rise but only in the sub-continent. Needless to say, the unit has to come good in conditions that have troubled far more experienced and dextrous squads. To be precise, India has to do well in South Africa and England.
For the time being though, the men in blue are playing some of the finest cricket. The fact that the games are being one-sided is a testimony to their efficiency. Also, the rain gods did make matters easy for the home team in the previous game. The Aussies were struggling at 118/8 in 18.4. To make the occurrence dreadful the target was revised to 48 in 6 overs. That’s extremely harsh, but the Aussies have themselves to blame. Only if they had not lost wickets at a canter the target would have been trickier.
A REFINED BHUVI
From being a dextrous swing bowler to becoming on the finest operators in the game. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s genius appears to grow by the second. Very few in the current lot of talented seamers utilize the new and the old kookaburra with similar flair. The run-up is extremely fluid, the delivery stride is faultless and his control on the white ball aberration is of the highest quality. The wickets tally do no justice to his ability whatsoever. 20 wickets in 18 ODIs, 3 wickets in 2 tests and 2 wickets in 3 T20Is. Bhuvi has hit the ground running this year and he’ll be the one to watch out for.
